Philippines Mission Letter: February 2020

Dear Brethren,

We give God all the glory and honor for the baptism of four precious souls added by the Lord to our congregation last month. Their names are Felicidad Javier, Annaliza Gutierrez, Abijah Noshka Ricario, and Juvilyn Javier. Felicidad and Anna are the mother-in-law and sister-in-law of Clemente Lazaga, a brother in Christ who works with me. We have been teaching them for several years. Whenever they had to go to the doctor or hospital and need a ride, they would always ask brother Clemente to drive them. We used those opportunities to teach them about Jesus, life, the love of God, eternal life, etc. Two weeks ago, when they were reminded again about the power of God to salvation, they finally decided to put on Christ in baptism for the forgiveness of their sins. On the other hand, Juvilyn and Abijah Noshka are two friends. We started to study with them since December last year. They decided to be baptized before, but their parents were against their decision. But last month, when they heard again how that their sins will be forgiven, they wholeheartedly and joyously went into the water to obey the Lord in his death, burial, and resurrection. Let us remember these new Christians in our prayers for their spiritual growth.

We were blessed to work with other preachers from different congregations through we care ministries last month. We divided ourselves into two groups and went to four places. We conducted workshop and seminar on how to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and on how to take care of those who obeyed the Lord in baptism. While others were doing the workshop and seminar, the rest of us were teaching prospects either at the corner of the building or in the house of the prospects. The Lord blessed the work bountifully. Many brethren and guests attended the seminar and workshop, and many were taught and brought to Christ. The leaders and members of the congregations that we helped brought and took us to their loved ones, friends, neighbors, and relatives to share with them the power of God to salvation. For several days of doing the work of the Lord in different places, many souls were brought to Christ and added to His family. We are praying for these new Christians and all our brethren who will work with them side by side for their spiritual growth.

We were also blessed with the opportunity to hold a gospel meeting at a new congregation in our province of Pangasinan. It also happened that it was the 75th birthday of the mother of a Christian family. Many people, mostly non-members of the church, showed up for the gospel meeting. After the lesson was presented, 2 precious souls obeyed the Lord in baptism for the forgiveness of their sins.

We continue to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for all you do and share for the work of the Lord here in the Philippines.

Thank you so very much for your continued love, prayers, concern, generosity, and support.
