In the Year of our Lord 2025

In the Year of our Lord 2025

In Isaiah 6, the prophet is shown the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, with the train of His robe [His majesty] filling the temple. Isaiah is immediately overwhelmed by a sense of his sinfulness in the presence of the Lord’s holiness.

As he fears for his life, a seraphim flew to him with a live coal, touched his mouth and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.”

And then he heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” And Isaiah replied, “Here am I! Send me.”

In Luke 1 we read the account of the angel Gabriel appearing to Mary and telling her that she has been chosen to bear the Son of the Highest after having been conceived by the Holy Spirit. Her amazing response was, “Behold the maid-servant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”

We enter into 2025 with the great excitement of the strong commitment we have made to the work of the Lord before us! In our lessons today, we are going to consider the challenge that Paul made to the church at Ephesus about Redeeming Their Time and Being Filled With The Holy Spirit. It is my prayer that these challenges will help us prioritize our walk of faith and be ever more responsive to the opportunities for service that God places before us!

With our launch of our new Plan of Work for 2025 next week, we are also going to launch two new sermon series. On Sunday mornings we are going to begin a series of lessons from the book of Joshua with the theme, “Lead On, O King Eternal.” Then, on Sunday evenings, we are going to follow up our series on Fellowship and Our One Another Relationship with a short series on “Seeing Souls.”

One the hymns we sing in worship declares, “Where He leads me, I will follow… I’ll go with Him All the Way!”

It is exciting to be part of the Graeber Road Family! It is exciting to think about what God will do in us and through us in 2025! May we be ready to Follow His Lead, may we offer ourselves as Servants for the Lord’s will, and may we have a heart that is willing to declare, “Here am I, send me!” To God be the glory!
