Will He Reward Us?

Will He Reward Us?

8 Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah. 9 Men of low degree are only vanity and men of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up; They are together lighter than breath. 10 Do not trust in oppression And do not vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them. 11 Once God has spoken; Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God; 12 And lovingkindness is Yours, O Lord, For You recompense a man according to his work. Psalm 62: 8-12 (NASU)

Do we labor in vain? You can say upon the integrity of God’s character that a reward for the faithful is coming. We can declare, “And lovingkindness is Yours, O Lord, for You recompense a man according to his work” (v.12). Why do we affirm this truth with such confidence?

He has the power to do it.

His almighty power is dedicated to rewarding His servants. Nothing can prevent Him from keeping His promises.

He has the grace to do it.

Although no one is deserving His eternal gifts, His lovingkindness provides them for those who trust in Him.

He has the intention to do it.

It has been His plan all along to provide eternal life for each of His children.

He has the faithfulness to do it.

His integrity demands that His Word be kept. It is impossible for God to lie. The proper recompense will be given on the final day. His promise is more firm and sure than the endurance of the sun, moon and starts.
