“To the work, to the work, we are servants of God.
Let us follow the path that our Master has trod…”
Today is an exciting day for our Graeber Road Family as our Elders will be introducing our Plan of Work for 2025! Know that our Elders and Deacons have put much thought and prayer into this! Also, know that it was your faith and financial commitment that has made it possible for this plan of work to unfold!
The goal of all that we seek to accomplish in the year ahead is to glorify God! As we seek to honor Him and His will, we know that God will be with us! We know that God can take what we offer him and do amazing things through them.
I am reminded of the multitude that was tired and hungry, and the disciples urged Jesus to send them away so they could go into the towns and get food. Jesus came back to them with the challenge, “You give them something to eat.” (Mark 6:37)
The best they had to offer was five loaves and two fish. But Jesus blessed it, and multiplied it, and gave it to all the people. The end result was that 5000 men were fed, and 12 baskets full of leftovers were collected. The key is for each of us to give God what we have and let Him bless it and use it for His glory!
In the book of Nehemiah, we read the beautiful story of Nehemiah leading the people to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem that were in ruin. In chapter 3 we read the amazing account of cooperation, and nearly every verse tells of an individual or family who was active in the work, and then the statement, “And next to him,” or “Next to them,” or “After him,” or “After them.” Nehemiah 4:6 reports it this way, “So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.”
There is a wonderful spirit of love and cooperation among the Family here at Graeber Road! God has a purpose for us in this world to shine as lights that reflect the True Light in this dark and sinful world. As those who have been reconciled to God, we are called to be ministers of reconciliation!
How exciting to anticipate what God will do in us and through us as we join hearts and hands and go to the work! To God be the glory!
