Good Days and Opportunities Ahead

Good Days and Opportunities Ahead

It is hard to believe that we have reached the last two weeks of July! There have been many wonderful events happening over the summer (Camp Bandina, VBS, Wednesday Night Summer Series, TNT, our Ice Cream & Dessert fellowship) and we are excited about the activities our members will be involved in throughout the rest of the summer.

As I write this, we have several families at Polishing the Pulpit – Branson. On July 27 you will be blessed to have Allen Hahn back to teach that morning and preach both morning and evening services. On August 3 , we will be blessed to hear Jackson McTopy preach for us. We love seeing Jackson when he is back in town and are proud of the way he uses his talents to serve the Lord. On August 9 we will be hosting a FREE Garage Sale for our community – be sure to check announcements for how to direct those in need to sign up. Also, be ready to volunteer your time to help with final preparations and the work needed that day. We will follow this up on August 10 with a Friends and Family Day! We hope to invite those from the community we meet through the Free Garage Sale but also encourage you to invite your friends and family to participate. We will have a fellowship meal together after morning worship so plan to participate and bring enough food for your family and our extra guests. More of our members will be heading to Polishing the Pulpit – Sevierville in August.

On September 7 , missionary Robert Indong will be speaking for us during the morning worship. On October 10 – 12 we will be having a Gospel Meeting with Eddie Cloer. Eddie was a long-time professor of Bible at Harding University, is the Director of Truth for Today World Mission School, and is General Editor for Truth for Today Commentary. In addition to the Gospel Meeting, Brother Cloer will be leading us in an Evangelism Workshop that Saturday morning.

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head — Christ — 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. -Ephesians 4: 11-16.
