I’m Okay With Being Weak

Moses had a speech problem, but God was with him (Exodus 4:10-12).

Joshua became the national leader of a homeless people, but God was with him (Deuteronomy 31:23).

Gideon was from a weak clan and the least in his family, but God was with him (Judges 6:15-16).

Jeremiah was a young, fearful man who couldn’t speak well, but God was with him (Jeremiah 1:4-8).

The Israelites were decimated and deported by the Babylonians, but God was with them (Jeremiah 30:8-11).

The remnant that returned to the rubble of a destroyed temple struggled for years rebuilding their lives, but God was with them (Haggai 2:1-5).

The apostles, on the brink of preaching the Gospel to a world hostile to any other king, were reminded by Jesus: “I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Paul begged the Lord for relief from something that made him weak. Jesus responded, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:5-9).

Whenever God promises to be with us, remember that His grace is enough for us (2 Corinthians 12:9)! May we boast all the more gladly in our weaknesses so that the power of Christ rests upon us. I’m okay with being weak. “For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 9:10b).
